This is your chance to own a dramatic piece of memorable Virginia architecture. This stunning Georgian mansion, "Broy Hill", with a circular drive and grand columns, perched on a hilltop, is a grand dame of North Arlington. Every inch of this sweeping 10 bedroom/9.5 bath home was personally overseen by M.T. Broyhill for his own family's enjoyment. Sparing nothing, this jewel unfolds like a diamond necklace with blueprints for heavy detailed moulding, cornices, sweeping handrails, decorated fireplace mantels, handlaid hardwood floors and french doors. The fantastic floorplan features a glorious entry foyer with stunning curved staircase and chandelier, presenting the exquisite formal living room and dining room fitted with chandeliers, wall sconces and heavy three-tier cornice moulding and a deep butler's pantry fit for the entertaining that this home demands. Then, sink your teeth further into the abundance with two kitchens, a breakfast morning room, an afternoon solarium, home office or library, plus a terracotta tiled great room and fireplace, all on the first floor. The second floor offers a primary bedroom with a huge private outdoor balcony, buttressed by the intended children's suite of two bedrooms and Jack-and-Jill bath that also opens onto a private small balcony. Heavy dresser built-ins align the hallway, leading to two additional bedrooms and baths. Up another flight, be stunned by an enormous ballroom with vaulted ceiling, chandeliers and fireplace that recall the days of a gentleman's billiards room, dance hall, or concerto evenings. Two additional bedrooms on this floor. The lowest level is completed by a heavy oak library room, an indoor sauna room, two additional bedrooms, a small kitchenette. The whole house is made accessible by an elevator. This premium lot holds an outdoor in-ground pool in its own outbuilding. Note, this property also conveys a subdivided .25 acre lot! Incredible central Arlington location just uphill from Marymount University and streets over from Glebe Road and Military Road.

Arlington is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, on the west bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington, D.C. Although sometimes referred to as a city, Arlington is actually a county which contains no incorporated towns or cities within its boundaries. Originally part of the 10-mile square area set aside in 1791 for the nation’s capital, the land now comprising Arlington County was returned to the Commonwealth of Virginia by the U.S. Congress in 1846 and was known at the time as Alexandria County. In 1852, the independent City of Alexandria was incorporated from a portion of the County, leading to confusion, as two adjacent municipal entities continued to share the same name ("Alexandria"). Although best known generally as the home of the Pentagon, The Iwo Jima War Memorial, and Arlington National Cemetery, the County is also an important employment center. The Federal Government accounts for the lion's share of the roughly 200,000 jobs in Arlington, but high-tech companies have become increasingly prominent, as have several major associations, Fortune 500 companies, and other nationally known employers. The County’s residential population is among the most highly educated in the nation and is increasingly diverse. Arlington is the home of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and is serviced by the Orange, Blue and Yellow lines of the Washington Metro. The County is traversed by two Interstate highways, I-66 and I-395; as well as by the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

The name Arlington is synonymous in many people's minds with Arlington National Cemetery, the most famous national cemetery in the United States. Veterans from all the nation's wars are buried in the cemetery, as are two former Presidents (John F. Kennedy and William Howard Taft). Also located in Arlington are the Pentagon, headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, and several notable memorials, including the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial (also known as the "Iwo Jima Memorial"), the U.S. Air Force Memorial, and the Women in Military Service for America Memorial.
